Encounters
Encounters is the Youth Programme of the Masterclass Festival Amsterdam. In this programme, young participants work in the period leading up to the festival on their own production, within the artistic framework of the grandmaster and under the guidance of teachers from the curating arts institution. The performance during the Masterclass Festival Amsterdam serves as the finale. With their experience and expertise, the grandmasters refine the performances and introduce new perspectives into the production.
Masterclass
Discover the creative process of actor Daniël Kolf, who is leading a unique masterclass. Young talents from De Amsterdamse Jeugdtheaterschool collaborate with him on acting, imagination, and individuality on stage. Drawing inspiration from his role in The Death of Benny Simons, the students take the stage themselves. As a visitor, you’ll have a front-row view of a new generation of performers blossoming under Daniël’s guidance. A rare opportunity to experience the creation of a role up close.
Talents
Daniël Kolf will give the masterclass to a selected group from the Amsterdam Youth Theatre School, with participant names to be announced shortly.

For few seasons, Kolf has been part of the permanent ITA Ensemble. In the 23|24 season, he appeared in the premiere of Oer en andere tijden (directed by Guy Cassiers) and in the reprises of Bloedbruiloft and Judas.
For his leading role in De dood van Benny Simons, a production by theatre company Orkater, Kolf won the Theo d’Or in 2025.
